Alyssa Warne2024-07-03 Super impressed with the customer service and job quality. They went above and beyond for the most affordable prices in town too. 10/10 Genine Davison2024-01-24 They did a great job -highly recommend . CCHRISTIANSON2024-01-15 Google reviews do not allow enough words to detail the odyssey I went on to get a roof through this company, so I will skip most of the frustrations I experienced. With that in mind, here is a long story shortened immensely: They were originally supposed to start my standing seam metal roof in early July. There were several promised/scheduled starts throughout the subsequent months where they simply did not show up. I had to call them to figure out what was going on. And an important point here to mention is that ghosted at least 9 out of 10 of my calls, which is scary when you have given them almost $10k downpayment and have been waiting months past their original start date. I told them from the beginning that I didnt really care when they started as long as it was before the wet season came, since our current roof had many missing shingles that I didnt want to have to deal with fixing before getting a new roof anyway. After much pestering and effort on my part, they finally started at the very end of November. They started tearing off my roof the day before a huge rainstorm (that was clearly forecasted), resulting in **MAJOR LEAKS** throughout one entire half of my house. Im talking about water running down the walls, dripping on our bed, etc. They had to come out two separate times to tarp over their bad felting/dry-in layer. Keep in mind this is a very steep 12/12 A frame style roof with 2 simple dormers. Should be very easy to dry-in compared to most houses. I requested a commercial dehumidifier to put inside our house, which they provided. It pulled out about 20 gallons of water in about 3 days. They put fans inside the joist bays from outside the house to dry out the insulation (which I am not confident about because it was basically 100% humidity outside/still raining much of this time). We dont have an attic space, so I still need to peal of ceiling panels to ensure that we havent developed mold since the job was finished. If I do find mold I will be talking to my lawyer and going from there. They ended up having to re felt that whole side of the house, this time using the proper gasketed nails instead of staples. Presumably the leaks were at least partially due to this improper fastening method. They finished the roof and it ultimately looked really good and we were happy with the finished product. But then it rained really hard 2 days later and we had another leak around the stovepipe and they had to come back out and fix that. Ever since then the roof is holding up and we are happy with it. I cannot in good conscience give this company more than 2/5 stars. They have called me recently to ask that I adjust my original 1/5 star review, which I posted a couple weeks before they started my roof. At that point in was using the poor review to as an attempt to get them to return my calls. I am giving them one additional star because the roof ultimately seems/looks good. If I could rate just the management of this company I would give them a 0/5. If I could rate the actual crew who did the work, it would be a 3/5. I liked most of the people doing the actual work, but the repeated major leaks we experienced reflect very poorly. AGAIN, the finished roof looks great and now seems tight, but only after an insane amount of water entered the interior of our house throughout the process. I think 2 of of 5 stars is about right given the whole experience and how much time/energy/frustration I personally had to put in to the process just to get them over here in the first place. I will note that the price was good, and the roofing system (crimpled standing seam, extruded on site) is high quality. But this company needs new management big time. If I could go back I would have definitely used a different company and paid a little more if necessary. Another note, my gutters are full of nails, screws, etc that they never cleaned up, as and I found a lot of nails staples all over especially in the fake grass/turf right next to our patio where there there is a lot of bare foot traffic. Diana Burnham2023-11-30 These guys did a great job. What a good team of men. We have two houses on our property and they got each house done in 3 days. They even roofed our shed for free. I would recommend them for sure. Christopher Cruz (AchillesEye)2023-08-18 The contractor is affiliated with the warranty company American Home Shield. I made a request with the warranty company, in which they contracted Versatile to get the job done on August 2nd for my septic to be cleaned out. I contacted Versatile the sameday to ensure they got the contract, but nobody answered the phone, so I left a message to contact me. I called every day for a week and finally got a hold of someone. The gentleman told me he would contact me after he called the warranty company to confirm the contract. Now, it is August 17th, with no call back. I called American home shield and explained I have been trying to communicate with Versatile. American Home Shield attempted to call Versatile and still no noboy answered the phone. So the warranty company dropped the contract and is moving on with another contractor who can do the job. Cheryl Shear2023-02-25 I recently purchased AHS. They cover home repair services. After two days of waiting for a call back the company called to tell me the first contractor willing to come to my home is 2 hrs away. Sean called me and arranged an appointment. He spoke to my insurance and relayed I needed a new hot water heater. AHS delivered the part to Church roofing. Sean was very pleasant , professional and knowledgeable. He actually came after our local snow storm. I told him I can wait until the snow melted. He called me back to say he was on his way. He was on time and installed it in record time. He even called after hours to check to make sure I was satisfied. I am very grateful he agreed to travel two hours to help me. I found my contractor. Thanks Sean. Sincerely Cheryl Shear and my house mate sister Francine Pritchard Thomas Bange2023-01-19 Awesome experience I had a leak in the roof I called in the morning they came out in the afternoon fixed it extremely reasonable 👍🌝 Amy Barney2022-07-15 Job is finished and complete and looks awesome. Once communication improved, it was nice to get updates daily and they let me know all the little details. The only reason I reduced 1 star was the bumpy start to the project, but once things were taken care of, the project came together great. Doug Darcey2022-07-14 We have known Shawn for a long time And it is heart felt to have seen him grow up and become the business person that he is. Our house was in need of a new roof as for my wife and I reroofed it approximately 30 years ago and it was due. We didn't figure we had the steam in us to do it again , So we contacted Sean, he came and looked at the roof, Gave us an estimate the only thing that was of uncertainty would be due to any unforeseen dry rot or wood damage underneath, As to which we lucked out very much so, The wood replacement Was very minimal and they did a fantastic job on that. From the time his crew 1st arrived and stripped the roof completely did the repairs and had the new roof and 11 additional vents For a total of 18.. it was a total of about 3 and a 1/2 days. All of his crew were very nice guys.. Very sociable ,very polite, very professional. They gave us a roof to be very proud of and it will last longer than we are going to.. THANK YOU to Shawn and his crew.. I 100% recommend them 👌 👍 Abbie Y2022-06-20 Put $10,000 down for new metal roof in December 2021. It is May 2, 2022 and still no roof (or phone calls). Was first given February install weather dependent. Understandable. Then told end of March. Weather was very dry and mild this winter. Called at end of March and was told,”No, we told you May.” No, we were told March. How can I be so sure?…because I have over $40,000 of solar panels sitting on the side of my house since December waiting to be installed, waiting on a roof. Had they said “May” when we had asked in February, we would have requested our deposit back and gone with someone else. Now here it is May. Not a single phone call from this company. Update: After this review was left, my husband got a phone call with a tentative start date: May 17th. We will see what happen. Second update: Day before May 17th, no phone call. Husband calls and leaves a message. Not returned. Calls and leaves another message on the 17th. Calls today the 18th to say they will start Monday, May 23rd @ 8am. Also asked my husband about this poor review. My husband wisely said, “You’ll need to talk to my wife about that.” (Husband didn’t know I had posted these reviews.) I’m not changing ANYTHING as long as I do not have a finished roof on top of my house. Meanwhile I’m still paying for the $40,000 of solar panels AND a power bill because the roof isn’t done now 3 months after the original date given. Third update: Arrived May 23rd and 24th to remove the roof. Was here for 4 hours on 6/6 and made 50 panels. Final update: 204 days later, we have a roof. 90 days was the time frame we were given when we put our deposit down. Worked from 6/8-6/20 installing the roof. Minus a rain day, it only took 10.5 days to remove the old shingle roof and install the new metal roof, but 204 to get to this point. First, I will say the crew that came out and did the work did a great job. They really do good work. If it was just them that I was reviewing, I would recommend them without a doubt. But this whole experience was simply AWFUL!!! If you are ok with lengthy delays, constantly being given every excuse in the book why they aren't there doing the job, and ZERO communication, then this is the company for you. I also question why we were asked to pay the remaining balance ($10,475) before the job was finished. According to my contract "Balance Due Upon Completion", I waited until it was complete before I handed over that last check when they finished this afternoon (Monday). Again, the workers are great. This company (in my opinion, based off our own experience) is terribly mismanaged. For that reason, I do not recommend this company to any of my friends or family.
